Assistant - Operations & Editing, BBC Studioworks
BBC Studioworks Ltd is a commercial subsidiary of the BBC, providing world-class studios, post production and related services to the market. It works with production companies and broadcasters, making and editing content for a variety of channels and broadcasters – from the BBC’s EastEnders, Children in Need and Strictly Come Dancing to E4’s Virtually Famous, ITV’s The Chase, ITV2’S Celebrity Juice and Sky’s A League of Their Own.
The core of BBC Studioworks’ operations are located in Borehamwood/Elstree, but from September 2017 the company will be expanding into revamped studio and post production facilities at Television Centre in Shepherd’s Bush, London.
Reporting to the Team Leader, the Assistant, Operations and Editing will undertake a range of operational and creative duties involving the handling of all forms of programme or media related material.
The role will assist craft staff to achieve the highest professional standard appropriate for the project brief and establish/maintain operational & technical standards for all processes. On specific projects, they will support production and editing teams through the co-ordination and technical supervision of all post production processes.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone with a demonstratable knowledge of post-production programme making techniques.
You should have a good working knowledge of Avid and associated storage in order to work independently and give support to other staff when required.
A good understanding of Delivery and Transmission deadlines
Good communication skills both written and verbal to liaise with the client
An appreciation of other functions and services offered and an understanding of the commercial context within which the department operates
Fixed term contract/Attachment 6-9 months
Based London - Borehamwood/Elstree
