This is an exciting opportunity to get into the world of business, earn while you learn on the job, gain a business management degree and have the option to be assessed for Chartered Manager status.

Successful apprentices will have the option to apply for professional recognition as Chartered Managers and Members of the Chartered Management Institute (CMgr MCMI) and/or as a member of the Institute for Leadership & Management or other relevant professional body.
As part of the two year programme you will complete a variety of work placements with the BBC, while studying towards the degree.
You'll need to be able to balance your time around working, attending college one day a week, and you'll also be expected to study at home.
Over the two years you will have the opportunity to work in a variety of areas of the BBC. You will learn about marketing, audiences, technology, project management, negotiation, legal and business affairs, planning and strategy, budgeting, relationships management, building partnerships and information management.

BBC Design and Engineering
BBC Design & Engineering delivers products, platforms and services globally, supporting the BBC's digital transformation and helping to change the Corporation into an internet fit broadcaster
We cater for audiences who want to access and interact with BBC programmes and services through the internet. By bringing technology and design teams together to work in partnership with the BBC's editorial teams, we create products like BBC News Online and BBC iPlayer.
BBC Marketing & Audiences
Marketing & Audiences sits within the Strategy & Digital division at the BBC.
Marketing & Audiences ensure the voice of the audience is heard within the organisation, and we are the voice of the BBC for our audiences while communicating the full extent of content and services the BBC has to offer across TV, Radio and Online.
BBC Policy & Strategy
The Policy & Strategy department supports the Director-General and Executive Board in setting the strategic direction of the BBC. It is made up of four key areas: Policy, Strategy, Sustainability and BBC Spark
BBC News Group
The BBC News Group, formed in April 2011 incorporates BBC Network News — News Channels, Mobile and Online, Current Affairs, Daily News Programmes, Newsgathering, and Production Operations teams— along with English Regions and the World Service Group.
BBC Worldwide Limited is the main commercial arm and a wholly owned subsidiary of the BBC which operates in the UK and over 200 countries around the world. The company is self-funded and exists to exploit the value of the BBC's assets for the benefit of the licence fee payer and invest in public service programming in return for rights.
BBC Worldwide acquire the commercial rights to great programmes such as Doctor Who, Top Gear and Dancing with the Stars and find ways of earning money from these rights across different media and markets. In 2016/17, BBC Worldwide's headline sales were £1,059.9m and headline profits £157.3m.
The Ideal Candidate
If you want to join us in September 2018 as a business apprentice you will need to demonstrate to us that you have:
- A genuine interest in Business and a passion to develop a career in Business Management within the creative industry.
- A passion and enthusiasm for working at the BBC.
- A proven ability to work on own initiative and offer ideas and suggestions for improvement.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to work in a team.
- Effective organisation and administrative skills with the ability to prioritise own workload.
- A keen eye for detail.
- Excellent numeracy skills and an ability to work with spreadsheets and databases.
- A track record in taking initiative.
- A proactive problem solver.
In terms of academic qualifications, you are likely to have five GCSEs Grade A* - C and studied A Levels or a vocational qualification such as a BTEC. Do not worry if you do not have these; we are looking for creative, passionate people with great ideas, not necessarily people with academic qualifications. So do not talk yourself out of this great opportunity.
