BBC Radio Jersey is one of the most successful radio stations in the British Isles. As the national station for Jersey we broadcast a mixture of agenda-setting news, top quality sport and community-based programming.

Role

We want to find a dynamic and creative journalist, who can report with flair and authority. Our small but dedicated news team work primarily in radio, but support colleagues working in TV and online. With our own government The States, a diverse and growing population and a community that is distinctive and different from that of the UK, BBC Radio Jersey provides a voice for the island and islanders.

You will work in a multi-platform environment, principally providing material for radio. You'll produce our news-based programmes, report from island events via the radio car and read our news bulletins too. You will work in other areas of the output as required. There will be opportunities to develop your role to potentially work in TV and Online as well as in radio presentation.

 

Requirements

We are looking for a broadcast journalist with great examples of reporting and programme production. You may also have an in-depth knowledge of island life, including our social and political systems in Jersey. We're looking for an enthusiasm for radio that translates into authority when on-air.

It goes without saying that you'll be creative, with bags of ideas. You will also need to be experienced in live reporting and creating distinctive recorded features. We would like to hear a recording of your recent work.
