BBC Scotland is seeking 3 Broadcast Journalists to join the Radio News team.
BBC Scotland’s News and Current Affairs department delivers high quality journalism on Radio, TV, Online and Social to audiences across Scotland and beyond.
We strive to lead the editorial agenda in Scotland, with breaking news stories at the heart of our journalism. We aim to provide high quality analysis and deliver accurate and balanced reporting.
Working against constant deadlines and using strong editorial judgement, you’ll be responsible for sourcing, writing, editing and broadcasting live hourly bulletins, as well as identifying stories, guests and treatments that fulfil the editorial remit of the programmes.
You should have first class news and editorial judgement, knowledge of the Scottish news agenda and you will make best use of social media.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have:
- A recognised journalistic qualification or practical experience in journalism.
- Good writing skills.
- Good broadcasting voice.
- First class news judgement.
- A flexible approach to work, which includes early and late shifts and weekend working.
- Ability to work accurately and to tight deadlines.
- Good Social media skills.
- The ability to work co-operatively as part of a small team.
- In-depth knowledge of the Scottish news agenda.
