Business Manager (Intelligence), Business Management - BBC Scotland
The Business Intelligence Team is part of BBC Scotland’s Business, Finance and Technology Division. The role of Business Manager (Intelligence) is to lead the team responsible for providing business intelligence (BI), management information (MI) and business analytics to the various divisions within BBC Scotland to support operational performance, managerial responsibilities and strategic objectives.
You will liaise with a range of senior stakeholders including Executive Board, Heads of Departments and Production Managers.
You will be expected to draw conclusions and make recommendations from the various sources of data and information available within BBC Scotland, as well as develop and implement plans for improving business intelligence.
Managing the reporting and analytics platform(s) to ensure that data and analytics align to business requirements is a key part of this role.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience and / or a relevant qualification in a business intelligence or similar role.
You will have a background in working as part of a reporting team, using a modern reporting platform in both an analytical and development capacity.
Experience of working with multiple stakeholders at a senior level is essential.
Advanced knowledge of Excel, coupled with experience of using database reporting systems is required. You will be able to analyse and interpret complex data, write reports and deliver this to audiences.
Experience of managing both individuals and teams
Excellent communications and influencing skills are a key requirement for this role.
Knowledge of programme making techniques in a broadcast environment would be a distinct advantage.
