Schedule Planner, Presentation - BBC Children's
BBC Children's Presentation is the unit which produces continuity links for both CBeebies and CBBC brands and also creates the CBBC weekly review show “Whoops I Missed The Bus” and CBeebies Bedtime Stories. It works closely with Marketing, Scheduling, Interactive and Production (both Indies and In-House) to produce engaging wrap-around content for BBC Children's output. Presentation also works closely with Ericsson for transmission of the channels within its Schedule Planning team. Presentation makes over 298 hours of original content per year for CBBC and over 310 hours of original content per year for CBeebies and also produces content for the BBC Worldwide global channels.
The Schedule Planner role is a key part of the team helping to manage the airtime and delivery of the CBBC and CBeebies broadcast schedules.
In this role you will work alongside the Senior Schedule Planner in managing the Presentation link strategy and schedule on CBeebies and CBBC using On-Air. You'll be responsible for managing the airtime and delivery on CBBC and CBeebies Broadcast Schedules and be the point of contact for answering any scheduling queries from the Presentation teams, and be a key contact for Ericsson Playout enquiries.
You'll be an effective communicator, and ensure other departments such as Scheduling, Media Planning, Interactive and Marketing are updated with key information.
You'll be responsible for liaising with Children's Schedules Managers and Schedule Information Assistants to ensure that the schedules are finalised before the weekly press deadline, and work closely with Presentation Production teams to ensure the correct amount of link time is allocated.
You'll "own" the schedule in terms of Presentation content and junction timings, and provide Ericson Playout with accurate briefing documents per day of transmission.
Overall you'll be the main point of contact between BBC Children's Presentation and Ericsson, and instigating any changes necessary.
The Ideal Candidate
You’ll have experience or an understanding in schedule planning and process, and understand the role this places in relation to other teams in Production, Marketing/Media, planning, Playout, Interactive and Scheduling.
Previous experience of Transmission, Scheduling, Content Management or Business Management systems is essential, and a working knowledge of On-Air is desirable.
You'll have good communication skills and be able to demonstrate experience of working with various teams and departments to ensure the end goals are met smoothly.
You'll be passionate about working for BBC Children's and have a knowledge of the CBBC and CBeebies programming and presentation.
