Senior Audience Research Executive (BBC One and Drama)

Our Audience Research team delivers audience insight and analysis to inform strategic, creative and tactical decision making across all parts of the BBC. This ranges from measuring who is consuming our content in an increasingly diverse media environment, to surveying our audience to ensure we continuously provide licence-fee payers with value for money.
The BBC currently has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Audience Research Executive to work across research within BBC One and Drama.
***This is position is a 6 month fixed-term contract.***
The Senior Audience Research Executive for BBC One and Drama will be responsible for supporting senior stakeholders in Television, and particularly those working in the BBC One and Drama areas (though the post holder will also be expected to work flexibly across other channels, genres and platforms).
The role will involve:
•Undertaking or contributing to research projects, creating and effectively communicating insights that cause decision makers to make the best informed decisions
•Analysing and interpreting data from a variety of sources in order to assess the performance of the varying services of BBC One and Drama (and against competitors where appropriate) and inform the development of future services and content
•Commissioning and undertake strategic, operational and tactical qualitative and quantitative research as appropriate and as agreed and to be solely or jointly responsible for these projects from start to finish
•Presenting audience insight in a compelling way that tells the story behind the data
•Developing effective relationships across the Audiences team, with key Marketing & Audiences staff and others in the wider BBC community
The Ideal Candidate
To be successful in this post, you will have an in depth knowledge of market or audience research techniques gained through experience of market research. You will have a good understanding of media industry ratings data such as BARB with knowledge of web analytics and social media data desirable.
In addition, you will have hands on experience of conducting qualitative and or quantitative research projects. You will have a proven record of developing and using audience/consumer insights and communicating them to creative and non-marketing literate communities, in a relevant and engaging way. An interest in BBC One and Drama is desirable.
