Senior Projects Manager, BBC Media Action

As Senior Project Manager for Africa you’ll be responsible for a team of London based staff who support our country operations, help create new innovative development projects and work with donors to ensure new projects are in the pipeline to be funded

Role Responsibility

You’ll manage a varied team of 7 project managers, assistant project managers and team assistants as well as providing project management oversight of the Africa regional programme’s work. While developing new projects, you’ll also make sure our current projects are delivered to the highest possible quality and delivering to objectives agreed with donors. You’ll provide oversight of the business development and institutional donor fundraising in the region and pursue the appropriate strategic opportunities, setting realistic budgets. Whilst overseeing the management of sign-off systems you’ll deputise for the Regional Director where necessary and will support the recruitment and induction of London-based staff and international field based staff.

The Ideal Candidate

We need your senior level experience in project management and business development experience within a development setting; in particular we need someone with extensive donor relationship management experience. You will have senior level experience of managing both team and individual performance, together with excellent budgeting and financial management experience.  You’ll also have an excellent proven track record in writing successful donor proposals, in particular gaining significant sums of donor support. A good understanding and interest in the issues of how media can be used creatively to further development objectives in Africa is also a key part of this role
