Studio Resource Manager, BBC Studioworks
The Studio Resource Manager is accountable for the efficient and effective management and financial control of all operational resources involved in a studio production, and to work with the Commercial Manager to achieve revenue and cost management targets.
The role is there to ensure the customer experience is first class through all elements of the studio production - from preparation of estimates, technical planning, crew provision, health and safety, turnaround of sets and lighting, through to the delivery of the programme whether rehearsing, recording or transmitting.
You will be commercially aware and work with the Commercial Manager to achieve certain business targets, whilst ensuring the customer experience is first class in terms of operational delivery and supporting requirements - engendering a degree of loyalty from clients due to the value you bring.
You will prepare and or/update estimates, have responsibility for technical planning and action customer driven allocation requests for staff and equipment, including requests for hired equipment and freelance staff. You will be responsible for cost control, ensuring projects are managed and delivered within the agreed production budget.
You will be the focal point for customer liaison, monitor and seek feedback on staff performance and be responsible for safety in the studio facilities and/or on location, including risk assessment, safe systems of work and incident investigation.
You will be responsible for collection of costs, invoice preparation and project reconciliation, and oversee the successful turnround of studios ensuring deadlines are met in a safe and cost effective way.
The Ideal Candidate
You should have a thorough and proven understanding of studio operations and technologies, gained from broad experience of studios management in a commercial context.
Be able to manage conflicting commercial pressures in a changing environment, driving value to the company and the client, with experience in financial and operational management.
You'll have a customer focused approach with excellent communication skills, proven leadership experience and the resourcefulness to overcome and adapt to challenges.
