Welcome to Work Experience opportunities in Salfordwithin News & Journalism. If youre interestedin Radio & Television news, broadcast production, newsgathering techniquesandgetting some great practical experience on your CV, youve come to the right place.

The BBC is responsible forthe production of news across all Networks including the BBC 5Live, Radio Manchester and BBC Vietnamese.

Role Responsibility

Every placement is different, but your Work Experience will give you a good all round overview of News & Journalismacross programming, reporting and editing. You may get the chance to watch broadcasts go out on air and understand the processes for Drama and Entertainment.

During your online application, you will have the opportunity to choose your placement and tell us about the things youre really interested in.

You dont need a media qualificationto apply. You just need to be able to show us that youre passionate about News & Journalismand have a genuine desire to find out what the industry has to offer.

We have placements available in the following areas:

BBC Radio 5Live/Radio Manchester/BBC Breakfast(August and September only - over 18)

Opportunityto assist with preparing scripts,collecting vox pops and taking calls from listeners withinRadio 5Live/Radio Manchester and BBC Breakfast

The One Show/Rip Off Britain (August and September only - over 18)

You'll have the opportunity to gain experienceworking on short film and programme ideas, helping to plan, schedule and organise some aspects of a location shoot toassistthe team with location filming.

Newsround (August and September - over 18)

Gain experience working on short film and programme ideas, be encouraged to comeup with ideas for contributors and assistthe team with location filming.
