Extendee - Presentation Planning Assistant, BBC World News

You'll be responsible for the collection, input and maintenance of accurate and detailed information in the TV Schedules and databases. You'll keep all relevant parties informed and up to date and will provide support to the Presentation Planners. Working across BBC World News and you will occasional support other areas of the Global News Division, including Arabic Television (ATV) and Persian Television (PTV).
The Ideal Candidate
We need your administrative experience of working with detailed information and procedures. You'll be computer literate with experience of using and updating computer database systems and will have interest in and knowledge of television. You'll have the ability to work independently and as an integral part of a team and will be able to demonstrate initiative and work flexibly, adapting to changing circumstances. Alongside this you'll have effective time-management and organisational skills and the ability to prioritise your own workload.
Extend – BBC Disability Scheme
Exclusively for disabled people, Extend is an award-winning, BBC-wide work placement scheme which offers appropriately experienced and/or qualified people a great opportunity to gain six months’ paid work experience within the BBC.
Although the scheme doesn’t necessarily lead to a full-time job, last year 70% gained further work at the BBC.
From October 2014, 12 placements will be available across the UK, in both programming areas and programme support areas. You’ll need to match the criteria for the placement as well as demonstrate a keen interest in broadcasting and knowledge of BBC output.
