Extendee - Production Management Assistant, R&M Production
R&M Production is a department within Radio. We produce more than 4000 hours of programmes a year.Â R&M Production is the biggest supplier of non-news factual and drama programmes to the BBCâs radio networks, principally Radio 4, the World Service, Radio 3
You'll provide administrative support and assist with the logistical management of the department for the production(s). As well asÂ assisting the Production Executive / Manager in the preparation and subsequent communication of production information, including leave and sickness records, training information and health and safety records, you'll also beÂ responsible for the smooth running of the production office, acting as a key point of contact.Â Your roleÂ would include maintenance of staff-scheduling records,Â internal and external procurement within authorised limits and to initiate, purchase, monitor and maintain all new and existing IT software/hardware requirements for staff as well as requesting IT user set up and changes.
The Ideal Candidate
We need your experience of working in a pressurised and challenging environment and you'll haveÂ strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage conflicting demands to meet deadlines. As well as your awareness of multi-platform production/content, you'll haveÂ knowledge of BBC systems including SAP and an ability to adopt new technologies.

Although the scheme doesnât necessarily lead to a full-time job, last year 70% gained further work at the BBC.
From October 2014, 12 placements will be available across the UK, in both programming areas and programme support areas. Youâll need to match the criteria for the placement as well as demonstrate a keen interest in broadcasting and knowledge of BBC output.
