Job Introduction

The Money, Technology and Data story team is a key part of BBC News Content, providing news reports for digital, television and radio platforms both in the UK and internationally. 

We report stories of regional and global importance, providing insightful analysis for audiences around the world.  We have the highest editorial and technical standards.

Role Responsibility

As the Asia Business Correspondent, you will deliver high-impact reporting and exclusive interviews covering business news and current affairs in Asia. You will provide timely, expert and authoritative coverage across Digital, TV and Radio, as well as break major stories.

The Ideal Candidate

To be successful in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:

  • A proven record of delivering exclusive stories and interviews
  • Demonstrated experience as a journalist in television, radio or online. 
  • Outstanding knowledge of business and economic affairs in Asia, and strong news judgement
  • Broadcast experience on air, specifically live reporting, would be an advantage. 
  • Creative journalist who knows how to write business stories in an engaging and accessible manner for a global and UK audiences
  • A self-starter who can work independently
  • Ability to work cooperatively within a small team of journalists in a high-pressure environment
  • You must have the right to work in Singapore

Location: Singapore

Interview dates: 27 and/or 28 September, 2021

Start date: October 2021 to March 2022 & April 2022 to September 2022
