Assistant Content Producer, Games (Interactive) - BBC Children's

BBC Children’s is now looking for an Assistant Content Producer to assist in the delivery of games and other interactive experiences for our young audiences. You will have the opportunity to continue to develop your production skills, working closely with Content Producers, BBC technical and design teams, and external partners to ensure that our output meets audience expectations while delivering on BBC Children’s objectives.

This role is to commence in January 2018. 

Role Responsibility

You will assist in the delivery of games and other interactive experiences for under 16 year olds, working on leading CBeebies and CBBC brands such as Go Jetters, Something Special, Danger Mouse and The Worst Witch.

BBC Children’s forward-looking approach marries the best of linear programming with highly engaging multi-media interactivity, which means you’ll be working at the cutting edge of the media industry. 

You'll assist Content Producers in the production of larger scale games, whilst simultaneously producing smaller-scale games and digital experiences to a high standard, which both meet the requirements of our audience and are in-line with the BBC's editorial policy.

You'll have strong relationships with numerous internal and external stakeholders; working closely with the design and technical teams as well as external brand owners. 

You'll manage the day-to-day tasks of Researchers within the team and working closely to develop their skills, as well as managing workloads effectively to ensure project timelines are planned effectively and deadlines are met. 

You'll also be able to ensure the BBC's output reflects the diverse nature of our audiences.

Are you the right candidate?

You’ll need excellent communication skills as well as project management sensibilities, editorial judgement and the ability to autonomously deliver small-scale projects. You’ll also enjoy the creative process and be a good collaborator when working with others. You’ll have experience of delivering games or interactive experiences for desktop, mobile and/or tablet devices. Experience of HTML5 is preferable.  You'll also be knowledgeable and passionate about Children's content and have an understanding of trends and needs of our target audience.

Grade 6 (Proposed band C)
