We are recruiting for an Assistant Editor to join our Content Services team based in our editing facility in London.
This is an exciting new creative role, working with award-winning content and a talented team of producers and designers, editing creative work that is seen on BBC branded channels around the world. It’s a full-time, twelve month contract role.

Reporting to the Edit Village Manager, you will be responsible for captioning all navigation and promotional material, perform quick fixes and ad-hoc edits and responding to technical and creative queries and resolving issues. In addition you will give guidance to new editors, providing an organised, easy-to-use library of graphics, guidelines and preset sequences.
By undertaking a variety of editing tasks you’ll help us to ensure the seamless delivery of day-to-day editing of on-air promos for transmission across the BBC’s branded services, throughout Europe and Africa.
The Ideal Candidate
To be successful in this role you'll have experience of working as an Assistant Editor within the broadcast TV promotion industry, providing technical assistance to Creative teams and captioning promo material.
Experience and awareness of post- production equipment and procedures, and knowledge of broadcast equipment, tape, audio and data formats used in production and related video hardware are essential. This will include experience of using Adobe Premiere and Final Cut Pro.
Possessing good organisational skills, you will be able to prioritise your workload effectively to meet deadlines and a strong attention to detail to adhere to strict branding rules. You will also have experience of managing a media library within a SAN environment and also of maintaining office and administrative systems and devising new systems.
Good communication and interpersonal skills are key and you will be comfortable building and maintaining strong working relationships with stakeholders, internal clients and with technical and non-technical members of a wider Creative team.
