Assistant Producer, CBeebies - Swashbuckle

We have a fantastic opportunity to join our team in Glasgow on the successful CBeebies series Swashbuckle

Swashbuckle is a series of 26 x 22 minute studio gameshow for the Pre School audience.  Set in a pirate shipwreck on a beach. The wreck reveals a mammoth kids soft play obstacle course on multiple levels

The Assistant Producer will work with the Editorial and Production Management  team to deliver this fun packed series for our very important Pre School audience

Role Responsibility

To work in conjunction with the Series Producer, research and production management team, crew, contributors to deliver programmes of the highest quality and demonstrate meticulous planning and organisational skills.   

You will lead the research team who are casting suitable child contributors.  Help develop new games and updating any existing rounds.  In pre-production you will work closely with the Script Editor in helping to deliver original and fun content for the sketches.  On the Studio record days you work with the Floor Manager on the floor.  You will also work with the on screen talent to get the best performance.

The successful post holder(s) must use time and resources efficiently in order to achieve maximum productivity within deadlines and budgets, take a thorough and methodical approach to work, whilst being able to respond flexibly to changes.  They must also possess the capability to work on several projects simultaneously, monitoring progress, creating reliable systems for storage and retrieval of information.

Are you the right candidate?

We are looking for people who are passionate about working in this creative industry, especially CBeebies.  An up-to-date understanding of the BBC’s diverse audiences and their needs and expectations and use this to help shape creative and engaging output.  A good knowledge and understanding of the children’s audience, and an awareness of BBC Children’s output and children’s content from other broadcasters. 

We are looking for an AP or very experienced Researcher to work in this role.  Experience of casting is essential preferably Childrens casting.  A thorough knowledge of the child licensing process and child working hours are imperative. 

You will have experience of working with Pre School children, the ability to encourage great performances from them, and to think on your feet and react to changes quickly. You will have previous studio, leadership experience, excellent communication skills and an ability to work closely with a studio team to realise the creative vision.
