Assistant Producers, BBC Music Day

We are looking for 3 x Assistant Producers in addition to a talented Production Manager and a Researcher to join the join the BBC Music Day team in Salford.
AP start dates are February, May and June 2018 - contracts are of varying lengths.
BBC Music Day is a celebration of the power of music with live events and broadcasts across BBC TV, radio and digital. In 2017 we reached 8 million viewers on TV, 12 million on radio and we trended on Twitter throughout the day. The initiative united over 120 external partners who delivered almost a thousand events and over 18 hours of broadcast coverage. As an Assistant Producer you should have proven experience having worked on at least two productions that have involved event and television production, ideally in Music. Preferably you will have previously worked on a large multi platform project involving teams from across the UK.

The Ideal Candidate
To be successful in the role of Assistant Producer, BBC Music Day, you will need to demonstrate on the application form that you fully meet most of the following essential criteria outlined below:
- Strong interest in music and wide knowledge of different genres from pop to rock to classical
- TV and Radio production experience
- Ideas development, ideally in TV, Radio and Digital
- Experience of managing multiple stakeholder partnerships
- Self-shooting experience for at least one role
- Good research skills & ability to use initiative
- Strong writing skills
In addition to the above, the following skills and abilities would be an advantage:
- Event production experience
- Celebrity liaison experience
- Digital content production experience
- Understanding of and experience in employing social media strategies
- Experience of working on a multi-platform initiative
Finally, you will have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a team, with good attention to detail and an ability to multi-task and work calmly in an exciting and fast-paced environment.
Grade 5/7D (Proposed Band C)
3 x Assistant Producer attachments/fixed term contracts (of 9 months, 5 months & 3 months in duration).
