Job Introduction

Are you a woman taking A Level Maths or Science or equivalent or already have these qualifications? Want to take it forward, but dont know in what direction?

Why not sign up for the BBCs Women in STEM Discovery day and see how far a BBC Apprenticeship can take you. This is a one day course aimed at young women you are looking for a chance to find out more about what a career in Design & Engineering in the BBC means.

Role Responsibility

We are holding two Discovery days in order to give you an insight into the role of a Technology Apprentice at the BBC. You will be able to pick the day that suits you best when you apply.

Salford: Monday 22nd October

Birmingham: Thursday 1st November

On this one day course you will:

  • Meet people who have been where you are now and hear what they have to say about being a BBC Apprentice.
  • Take part in interactive workshops, and have a tour of the BBC
  • Receive application advice and guidance where you need it.

Are you the right candidate?

The Discovery Day is for women interested in applying for a BBC apprenticeship in our design and engineering teams. You should apply if you are interested and eligible for one of the following apprenticeships

Broadcast Engineering Degree Apprenticeship

Broadcast Operator Apprenticeship

Software Engineering Apprenticeship

We recommend you read about the apprenticeships before applying for the Discovery Day. On the application form we will ask you some eligibility questions and two other questions:

  1. What skills and interests do you have that relate to the apprenticeship?
  2. What would you like to get out of the discovery day?

Closing date: 11 October.

All applicants will be notified by Tuesday 16th October if they have been successful in gaining a place on one of the days.
