Broadcast Systems Engineer
Broadcast Operations, part of Engineering Operations, are responsible for the management of contribution and distribution services on behalf of BBC News Group and Audio & Music, as well as broadcast and business continuity across our sites in London and Salford.
The team is made up of the Master Control Rooms (MCRs), Duty Operations Management team, Coding and Multiplexing and Central Communications Area.
Broadcast Systems Engineers work on a 24x7 basis undertaking 1st and 2nd line support functions.
As a Broadcast Systems Engineer you will need to work with leading edge MPEG technology providers. You will also be required to work closely with commercial technology suppliers and service providers and manage the supply and work performed by contractors.
The Ideal Candidate
Do you have working knowledge and experience of vision, sound, communications and computer systems in a Broadcast Engineering environment?
Do you have the ability to make critical assessment of digital television pictures, waveforms and sound?
Do you have a high degree of computer literacy using Microsoft Office, Outlook, SharePoint, Excel and windows file manager?
Are you a confident communicator and have excellent interpersonal skills?
And most importantly, are you passionate about Broadcast Engineering?
