Business Affairs Executive - Sport (in-house title Commercial, Rights and Business Affairs Executive)

We are seeking a Commercial Rights and Business Affairs Executive to join the On-Air talent team in Sport Business Affairs team in Salford.   The CRBA On-air talent team in Sport plays a pivotal role in managing business relationships with presenters, commentators, experts and reporters across TV, Radio and Digital.    This is a permanent role.

Role Responsibility

Reporting to the On-Air Talent and Business Affairs Manager, you will deliver first-class business affairs, negotiation and contracting support and ancillary activities.

This role blends negotiation, advisory and analytic responsibilities, particularly around TV, Radio and Digital coverage of Sport as well as projects relating to the BBC’s on-air and on-screen talent.

The role is based in Salford but occasional travel to other BBC bases in London.

Are you the right candidate?

The successful candidate will relish a role that calls on a diverse range of skills, and will as a result be highly organised, will enjoy juggling priorities and will be very proactive.  

A strong team player with good interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively, you will have experience of building and maintaining effective working relationships with a range of people across a large, complex organisation, e.g. Finance, HR, Legal, Commercial Rights and Business Affairs and Tax.

Solutions focused and possessing strong negotiating skills you will be highly organised and effective at managing a varied workload and maintaining good relations with multiple stakeholders. Strong communication skills both verbal and written, combined with first class influencing skills are essential.  Excellent IT skills (MS Office - Word, Excel and Outlook) are also required.

You will be competent at dealing with the business issues that arise within a broadcast/media/technology environment, with some knowledge of contracts, copyright and clearances in respect of media production.  

An enthusiasm for Sport and an awareness of BBC Sport output across all platforms is key.
