Job Introduction

The Digital and Business Development team in BBC Studios Productions look after the digital, AVOD, social media, audio and branded content activities for the business, working in collaboration with genre production teams.  The team includes the Digital Originals production unit, who create innovative youth-skewing content for diverse global audiences. We want to inspire, connect and entertain the digital generation with attention grabbing shows for broadcasters, brands and platforms.

We are looking for a Business Coordinator to offer business support across the team and help manage our project pipeline, working in a collaborative role to ensure project delivery remains on track.  The role will also involve diary management support, general admin, coordination of meetings and travel logistics.   

Role Responsibility

Our Business Coordinator is responsible for providing a wide range of business, organisational and administrative support to the senior management team.  You will accurately maintain and coordinate business information across the team working to established processes and within agreed timescales.  You will sit at the heart of the department, monitoring and tracking all current and up-coming projects.

You will also provide the management team(s) with business support services including diary assistance, travel logistics, coordination of meetings, etc.   You will ensure freelancers are supported and onboarded into the team, tracking and ensuring their training is arranged and completed.  You will also have a holistic view of the HR onboarding process for new staff joining the team, making sure everything is in place ensuring a smooth process inc. contracts and IT set up.

The ideal candidate will be used to analysing and presenting accurate information in different formats and will have strong technical skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. You will need to have exceptional attention to detail and be a good communicator with the confidence to challenge existing processes in order to simplify ways of working.  You will also have very strong team-working skills and the ability to remain calm, focused and accurate under pressure.  This is a busy role with conflicting priorities, so it’s important you can demonstrate resilience and flexibility in your approach to work.

  • The successful applicant will have excellent IT skills in particular Excel, Powerpoint and a thorough understanding of production systems, Silvermouse and Albert. 
  • You will have experience of working with freelancers, ensuring their onboarding and training has been organised. 
  • Exemplary communication & numerical skills are essential, as is a positive attitude, an interest in broadcasting and strong desire to learn.    
  • The ability to compose documents and reports without detailed supervision is essential and to absolutely ensure they are factually, numerically and grammatically accurate.
  • Awareness of the production process and deadlines and timescales that production teams face is also required.
  • Experience of working in a digital environment especially across various social media platforms

Working pattern: Hybrid (2/3 days per week in a BBC Studios office)
