The Entertainment & Music team are responsible for over 300 hours of content, producing some of the biggest and best loved brands including; Strictly Come Dancing, The Weakest Link, Glastonbury, Children in Need, BBC Young Musician of the Year, A Question of Sport, Radio 1’s Big Weekender, Comic Relief, Later…with Jools Holland, BBC3’s upcoming series I Like The Way You Move and much more!

We are looking for a Business Coordinator to join the team, and you will be reporting to our Director of Production.

Role Responsibility

Our Business Coordinator is responsible for providing a wide range of business, organisational and administrative support to the senior management team.  You will accurately maintain and coordinate business information across the Ents & Music team working to established processes and within agreed timescales.  

Freelancer Model – Ensuring freelancers are supported and onboarded into the team. Tracking and ensuring their training is arranged and completed.

Onboarding - Have a holistic view of the HR onboarding process for new staff joining the team. Making sure everything is in place ensuring a smooth process inc. Contracts and IT set up.

Departmental communication - You will sit in the heart of the department, monitoring and tracking all current and up coming productions. Ensuring Heads of Productions and Creative Directors and the wider business are aware of our production and TX schedules .

You may also be required to organise the preparation of all meeting set up and distributing paperwork for approval board and production start up meetings and managing the diary and booking travel for the Director of Production. 

The ideal candidate will be used to analysing and presenting accurate information in different formats and will have strong technical skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. You will need to have exceptional attention to detail, and be a good communicator with the confidence to challenge existing processes in order to simplify ways of working.  You will also have very strong team-working skills and the ability to remain calm, focused and accurate under pressure.  This is a busy role with conflicting priorities, so it’s important you can demonstrate resilience and flexibility in your approach to work.

The successful applicant will have excellent IT skills in particular Excel, Powerpoint  and a thorough understanding of production systems, Silvermouse and Albert. 

You will have experience of working with freelancers, ensuring their onboarding and training has been organised. 

Exemplary communication & numerical skills are essential, as is a positive attitude, an interest in broadcasting and strong desire to learn.    

The ability to compose documents and reports without detailed supervision is essential and to absolutely ensure they are factually, numerically and grammatically accurate.

Awareness of the production process and deadlines and timescales that production teams face is also required.
