Content Coordinator

Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

Job Introduction

BBC Studios exists to generate commercial returns from BBC programmes and other British content. This allows us to make a significant cash return to the BBC each year – helping to fund much-loved programmes enjoyed in the UK and beyond – and to showcase and support the UK’s television industry on the world stage.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Motion Gallery's Content team for a Content Coordinator to join us on a permanent basis. The Content Coordinator will work as part of a small team, working with international sales teams and BBC production departments to drive premium content to BBC Motion Gallery’s online platform whilst supporting and providing expert advice to the global sales and marketing teams.

Role Responsibility

This is an excellent opportunity to work within the team to source, assess, select, catalogue and publish suitable stock footage clips for Motion Gallery's licensing business.

You will research footage from BBC libraries, including news and regional sources in order to identify potentially valuable content. You will then review rushes material and broadcasted programmes, selecting commercially viable, premium clips to publish to Getty Images’ website to support the continued growth of Motion Gallery’s online business. A key part of this process will be to apply high quality and accurate metadata that optimises our content and increases the likelihood of clips being returned in customer searches. In addition to this you will also conduct copyright checks to ensure footage can be licensed and also approve licensing of BBC footage ensuring it is used in context and does not breach BBC Editorial Policies. Occasional assistance to the Senior Content Coordinator will be required for the "Shot for Stock" project, where we shoot high quality 4K footage to fill gaps in our collection.

Are you the right candidate?

In order to be successful for this role you will have proven experience in selecting material for a commercial stock footage library; capturing and processing video assets would be advantageous. The ability to think creatively and laterally along with and understanding of rights and clearances would be desirable. You will be highly organised with the ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines, you will also be a keen team player with a flexible approach and amiable individual with excellent interpersonal skills. Knowledge of library resources and systems such as BBC Information & Archive databases (e.g. INFAX and Fabric) is desirable. Ideally, you will have a good working knowledge of MS Office Suite and Adobe Premier.
