Working with commercial experts in specific genres, the team manages an investment budget of approximately £200m per year. The team is involved at all stages of the process, playing a leading role in appraising individual investment opportunities as well as directing spend in line with BBC Studios content strategy. It also leads on post-investment performance appraisal and investment risk management.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking a Content Investment Analyst to join the Content Investment team. This is a progressive role for someone who has had experience in numerical analysis and would now like to take that step to further their development.
The Content Investment Analyst will support the investment managers and wider content Investment team to deliver effective management of the portfolio of BBCSD’s investment into content. You’ll partner with the investment managers and BBCSD genre teams, providing insight and analysis to help support delivery of BBCSD’s content strategy; and other areas of the business (sales, marketing, brands), collaborating to ensure a close link between market opportunities/sales priorities and content investment.
Manage the accurate and efficient tracking, updating and monitoring all investment data across the portfolio (investment spend, cash forecast, delivery dates, committed spend) to enable regular reporting on each aspect (monthly, quarterly, annually).
Responsible for individual programme investment financial modelling, providing recommendations to the Investment Manager.
Ensure investments are approved at the relevant boards, providing support on paperwork where needed. Also, prepare and seek approval for hedging of relevant co-productions with BBC Treasury and managing tracking of income received.
Deliver monthly Management Information (MI) reporting, providing analysis of changes, key risks and suggesting solutions to any issues. On an annual basis, provide analysis of portfolio performance to feed into Post Investment Review (PIR).
Proactively identify and escalate key issues that will affect delivery of genre and/or portfolio investment plans and input and create content for quarterly review packs.
Creation of expiring rights reports for genre teams (quarterly) and ensuring responses are gathered and actioned.

You’ll have a collaborative communication style and be able to adapt your style to your audience to develop trust and credibility. You’ll be naturally organised and be able to manage your workload autonomously.
An interest in a financial qualification would be of interest, but not essential.
