Content Marketing Specialist, BritBox

Job Introduction

Job Purpose:

Develop, create, prepare and schedule content across multiple marketing channels with primary focus on email, but may also include social media, onsite, and other digital platforms. This role has both independent and collaborative content creation and publishing, such as copywriting, image/video selection, basic image editing, drawing on an intimate knowledge of our British shows; or collaborating with the in-house creative team to develop campaign assets. This role reports to the Director of CRM & Retention, and works with the Creative Director & Editorial Manager.

Role Responsibility

Key responsibilities:

  • Content creation & collaboration (50%): Referring to briefs and drawing on an in-depth personal knowledge of British programming, develop content that hits all its objectives and is engaging to the audience. Includes: creating a positioning & editorial ‘hook’, writing copy, selecting and editing imagery/videos, and providing feedback on creative assets within agreed timelines.  

  • Content Publishing (40%): Own the publishing & sending/scheduling for email newsletters ensuring no deadline is missed and making changes to scheduling as requested and required. Utilize a high level of attention to detail to ensure content doesn’t contain any errors, typos, etc and will send the correct message to the correct audience.

  • Analysis & Reporting (10%): Frequently check the performance of content assets to find insights and learnings that will continually improve performance; such as different subject lines to improve email open rates, suggesting a new creative idea for social posts and more.

  • Other ad-hoc activities as required.

Are you the right candidate?

Required skills:

  • Copywriting

  • Proficiency in Photoshop or similar platform

  • Experience (work/internship) working with any of: email marketing, e-commerce page optimization, blogging and similar content marketing or production

  • Some understanding/experience with basic HTML/CSS

  • Passion for TV & movies

  • An interest or existing knowledge to be data-driven, specifically reviewing the performance of an email and understanding how different metrics like shares or opens can be improved through future creative changes

  • A passion or interest in developing a passion for British telly, both old favorites & classics and the latest titles

  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage own time in order to execute day-to-day and project requirements to a high standard.
