In 2014, the BBC announced plans to move BBC Three from a traditional linear television channel to a digital model. On 30 June 2015 the BBC Trust provisionally approved these plans, although final approval is not expected until the autumn. Regardless of the decision, BBC Three is aiming to reach audiences across a growing range of platforms in the coming years. The plan is to transition to a fully digital service in January 2016 – switching off the existing linear television channel at that time.
As a result of this transition, we are looking for a talented Content Producer Supervisor to support with the project. This is an attachment/fixed term contract for 6 months, based in London.
Your overall role is to support the Daily Content Editor in the running of the daily team including its operation, planning, commissioning and resourcing of daily content creation for a wide range of BBC and third party social platforms, in multiple forms and across genres. You will manage and supervise submissions, commissions and productions from pipeline partners and third party suppliers. The Content Producer Supervisor will originate and develop new and exciting content ideas for BBC and social platforms. You will produce and publish digital content for the BBC Three audience in the form of video, images, graphics, audio and text which can be used across social media channels.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have a full understanding of BBC Three’s Audience and Brand: a passion for developing new and innovative content and the ability to translate that passion into day to day work and relationships with and develop of others. You will have experience of developing, producing and publishing digital content and have a sound knowledge of the wider digital industry. Excellent technical and creative knowledge and a good understanding of how social media can be used to increase reach and engagement is essential. You will also have sound editorial judgement and the ability to evaluate interactive content and digital output effectively.
