Would you like to work on some of the BBC Radio’s favourite comedy shows?
Could you write for programmes as diverse as Chain Reaction to Dilemma to the News Quiz?
BBC Radio Comedy is looking for two Staff Writers for a year for the annual BBC Radio Comedy Writer’s Bursary. You’ll work on the department’s two high profile topical shows; The News Quiz and The Now Show as well as contributing to shows across the range of our output: writing one liners for our topical shows, script editing sitcoms, contributing sketches as well as working to develop new formats and vehicles.
Previous Radio Comedy Bursary writers include Guy Jenkin, Peter Baynham, Stewart Lee, Tony Roche and Danielle Ward.
Are you the right candidate?
This is an opportunity to work with some of the country’s top comedy talent and to create a track record of writing for successful shows across the comedy spectrum. To apply you must have at least two broadcast credits that are more than one-liners, have a wide-ranging knowledge of the comedy scene, be self-motivated and able to deliver under pressure.
