Customer Relationship Director
At the start of the new Charter period, the Director-General set out his vision for reinventing the BBC for a new generation, ensuring that everyone gets value from the BBC and reimagining public service broadcasting so that it works for all audiences. At the heart of this vision is developing a closer and more personal relationship with our audience and consumers of BBC content and services. By finding out more about our audiences, we can make better, more relevant content, and bring it to them more effectively in a global and increasingly competitive media landscape.
For the BBC to realise its aim “to reinvent the BBC for a new generation” and compete successfully in a dynamic and volatile global marketplace, the consumer must be at the centre of everything we do. To achieve this we must understand our consumers better than ever before, and engage them in an integrated and purposeful way across all of our brands (TV, Radio & Education) and platforms (iPlayer, homepage, myBBC, BBC Apps, Social Media) from our unique position of a publicly funded organisation with commercial entities.
The new director will lead engagement with BBC consumers, Licence Fee payers and signed-in members and develop strategies to deepen consumer retention and loyalty.

If we know more about our audience we can make better, more relevant content, and bring it to them more effectively in a global and increasingly competitive media landscape. The new CRM function will put this vision at the heart of the BBC.
The Ideal Candidate
The newly established function will require an inspirational leader with business acumen, understanding of technology, the ability to drive multi-skilled teams with a strong bias for execution and collaborative working. They will put the consumer/audience at the heart of everything they do.
