The Digital Consumer Engagement team’s purpose is to build addressable audiences across social, audio, web and CRM. We curate and commission content that captivates audiences and delivers attribution back to BBC brands, franchises and branded services – with the ultimate goal of driving both direct and indirect revenue for BBC Studios.

This role covers an enviable portfolio includes power brands such as BBC Earth, Countryfile and Top Gear.

The Data Analyst works as part of the team builds & maximises our addressable audience across our genres and brands.

Role Responsibility

Deliver analysis using defined analysis tools leveraging the full breadth of functionality to deliver value to the business.

Support both Data and Insights colleagues in delivering projects and fielding queries.

Embedded in digital consumer engagement responding to Heads of Programming business needs including setting KPIs, reporting and identifying tactics to drive success for the genre.

Utilising various Social, Digital and TV data sources holistically, demonstrating proficiency in exporting, organising, interpreting and presenting data to provide actionable insights. - egs Tubular, Social Bakers and Falcon.

Translate complex data questions and data sets, into clearly communicated actions

Deliver high standards of communication, including the development of new or imaginative ways of crafting action through the narrative of data and insights.

Work with the digital genre teams, providing regular reporting and tracking of digital metrics and KPI’s, content performance & campaign analysis.

Developing and maintaining documentation & knowledge hub.

Keeping up to date with the latest developments in the field.

Helping non-data-oriented colleagues understand where analysis can help them with their day to day roles.

Working with colleagues to ensure consistent data quality.

Deliver regular digital marketing and social activity reporting.

The Ideal Candidate

You are a proactive, collaborative team player, who enjoys problem solving.  Naturally inquisitive, you are keen to grow your knowledge and develop your skills.

You have great interpersonal skills and are able to influence and persuade even the trickiest of stakeholders.  You are an excellent communicator, both written and verbal, and are able to simplify complex problems into component parts and deal with them systematically.

You have a keen eye for detail and are able to spot and correct any errors.  You are able to critically evaluate your own work and identify ways to improve your output for future.

You are organised and efficient with your time, able to thrive in a fast paced and changeable environment.  You are used to delivering to tight timelines.

You have experience working with a variety of data sets (primary research, web analytics, content data sets) and using the insights derived from them to drive business success.  You have worked with data visualisation tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI).

You are a self-sustaining, resilient and proactive. Able to manage self and others within a complex matrix environment with shared responsibilities across the BBC.

You have an understanding of how the digital and media landscape is evolving and the implications for all parts of the BBC.
