Digital Delivery Lead - 12 month FTC

Due to an exciting period of change, we are seeking an experienced Digital Delivery Lead to join the Brands team on a 12 month fixed term contract. As Digital Delivery Lead you will be part of a world class team transforming the ways people enjoy new digital content through ground-breaking technology.  In a time of significant internal and external transformation, this role will work with the Divisional Director to identify how the change impacts on the business, and ensure sufficient engagement to change ways of working and realise sustainable business benefits

In this role, you will work across our digital franchises and brand (including crucial partnerships such as Discovery), to ensure we; deliver operational excellence, define product improvements, help consciously improve our processes, and play a big part in shaping a positive culture around delivery that supports the BBC’s digital aims.

Role Responsibility

Take responsibility for the delivery of projects and programmes of work from initial shaping through to delivery.

Implement effective methods of managing prioritisation, scope, dependencies, risks and issues – this would include defining, developing and delivering these methods with PM software support.

Collaborate with internal and external teams, including BBC Studios Product and Engineering management, to optimise delivery and constantly review our agile processes to drive clarity on how each discipline contributes to delivery.

Provide visibility of progress in formal reports, in meetings and presentations and in ad hoc written communications.

Build and nurture a team of project managers through strong management and mentoring of the existing team and effective hiring of new staff.

Develop productive relationships with pan-BBC and external stakeholders, delivery partners, and suppliers.

As a Digital Delivery Lead, you will demonstrate a strong track record of successful project delivery including large complicated projects, with experience in building successful teams, line managing and developing individuals. You’ll be accomplished in facilitating constructive discussion and debate amongst the management team to ensure progress towards objectives and goals. With empathy and informed understanding, your interpersonal and influencing skills encourage collaboration in and around your team. Comfortable working with ambiguity and working against conflicting priorities within a matrixed organisation, you’ll thrive under pressure.

You’ll possess expert knowledge of agile and lean approaches including its products, techniques and appropriate methodologies (e.g. Kanban, SCRUM, Lean), which may be supported by a recognised project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, APMQ, MSP, Scrum Master). Experience and knowledge of the global digital landscape with a keen focus on social AVOD will be your key strengths. A mix of strong commercial skills and creative instinct to represent the world leading IP and storytelling capability BBC will support your success in this role.
