BBC Children’s is continuing to evolve in the digital world as consumption of media continues to change at a rapid pace. The Digital Development team work to ensure that we compete in an increasingly diverse marketplace, driving innovation through digital platforms, experiences and content formats.
BBC Children’s is looking for 2 Digital Development Producers to lead content development within products, games, apps and other interactive experiences for 0-16 year-olds.
You’ll work to develop strategies for a broad portfolio of products and experiences, helping to shape the editorial direction of each project and establish new content formats that surprise and delight our audiences. You’ll work as a key editorial partner in the product team. Uniting technical understanding, marketplace awareness and excellent editorial judgement you’ll lead multidisciplinary teams to ensure we deliver our key objectives. You’ll work closely with core platform management and content teams to establish the strategies you develop within their teams and ensure they are implemented properly.
As well as driving innovation into new products you’ll manage the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of our existing portfolio of products and content, helping to shape future commissioning decisions by reporting on performance and balancing this with awareness of the wider digital landscape.
The Ideal Candidate
You’ll be a creative digital producer with excellent editorial credentials and a good level of technical understanding that enables you to collaborate at a high level across disciplines.
You’ll be passionate and knowledgeable about the digital landscape, aware of new technologies and how these might translate into new experiences for our audiences.
Ideally you’ll have a background creating experiences for children and their families and be in tune with the trends, needs and desires of this group. You’ll also be conscious of important considerations such as child protection and safeguarding.
