Digital Video Executive - Top Gear

Job Introduction

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Video specialist to join the Digital Marketing Team at BBC Studios as a Digital Video Executive for Top Gear. You will be responsible for managing a range of channels and overseeing their content strategy, scheduling and community management. You will work closely with the Digital Publishing team as well as with stakeholders from brand, strategy, editorial, production, and wider digital teams. This role is ideal for someone who has a proven track record in YouTube and Facebook channel management, who wants to work in a dynamic and friendly environment.  You will have the opportunity to work in a world-class award-winning digital marketing team and with premium video content.

The ideal candidate will have experience in working within the automotive sector and/or with automotive content, as well as being able to demonstrate the wider skills and experience necessary to fulfill the role.

Role Responsibility

You will be managing multiple channels such as YouTube and Facebook. Research and rights checks will need to be carried out for these managed channels.  Key projects will involve prepping, clipping and optimising scheduled content along a consistent pipeline for stakeholders. Regular communication and contact will be made with the direct manager plus digital strategy and editorial teams to set each managed channel’s editorial and content strategy and objectives. 

You will be curating the mix and frequency of videos being released for each managed channel while considering the changes in audience taste, marketing needs, and platform nuances. Lastly, you will be involved in preparing and presenting schedule, diagnostic, stakeholder, competitor and business reports for managed channels.

Are you the right candidate?

You should have direct experience running YouTube channels and must be able to demonstrate having successfully grown an online community (channel or channels) in terms of both subscriber numbers and video views/engagement.

Ideally, you will have a background in the automotive industry coupled with an understanding of the global digital landscape. You will be leading and being accountable for projects that fall within your remit and manage other team members involved. 

As a Digital Video Executive, you will be working as part of a team as well as autonomously, who will be managing conflicting priorities and deadlines. You will also be working with global brands and talking directly with these audiences. You will have experience with photo and video editing software such as Photoshop and Premiere Pro and website Content Management Systems.
