  • Create and monitor tailored programmes for the enhancement of the staff network chairs leadership and development skills;
  • Maintain open lines of communication and feedback with line managers of staff network chairs;

Our Diversity and Inclusion Plan 2021-2023 has several commitments to developing our staff through targeted leadership and development programmes and interventions.  These commitments contribute to our diversity targets, which are to be achieved for staff, including those in more senior positions. Working with the Leadership and Development team, responsibilities include:

  • Leading on and managing the diversity focused development programmes RISE and Elev8 - our targeted mentoring and development programmes for black, Asian and minority ethnic staff and disabled staff;
  • Leading on and managing our Senior Leadership Team Advisers programme – 24 members of staff at all levels, from across the BBC who join a divisional board and contribute to key decision-making on those boards for a 12 month period, alongside their existing roles;
  • Supporting the career development of the staff network chairs during their tenure, with the ambition that the role of a network chair provides a career development opportunity and maximise the experience of leading a strategic team.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone that is truly passionate about making positive changes and using their expertise to create great working culture.

The right candidate for this role would already have a great understanding of the role of employee networks, with experience of managing them, combined with experience of working on D&I initiatives and projects that can be accurately monitored and measured, in particular leadership development programmes.
