Job Introduction

The Dengineers is one of CBBC’s best loved factual entertainment brands and winner of both BAFTA and RTS awards. It is a makeover series that creates dream dens for children all over the UK. The children who feature in the series are firmly in control as they let their imaginations run wild to inspire the dens and then get involved in all aspects of the build. The selected children all have strong ideas and a clear reason why they deserve their own den.  We are looking for 2 x Runner / Drivers to join our amazing team on The Dengineers and help cast the line-up of talented children for the next series.

Role Responsibility

We are looking for Runner/Drivers to work closely with the Casting AP and Researcher in finding and casting diverse child contributors and their families or friends.

Someone who can help run an efficient database to compile potential applicants.

Efficiently process application forms.

Setting up and being part of casting phone calls & video calls with parents/guardians and their families

Assisting AP/Researcher with family casting visits.

Self-shooting casting visits and basic data wrangling at base. (if necessary)

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for Runners with the following skills:

Confident driver is essential as the role will involve visiting families potentially anywhere in the UK.

Experience of working with children and families

Passionate about CBBC programmes and a desire to cast contributors to reflect our diverse audience

Casting experience a bonus

Good organisational skills and attention to detail

Some technical experience helpful (filming recces; conducting video interviews and basic data wrangling)

You must be aware of child protection and working with children guidelines.

Understanding of data protection responsibilities

The successful post holder(s) must use time and resources efficiently in order to achieve maximum productivity within deadlines and budgets, take a thorough and methodical approach to work, whilst being able to respond flexibly to changes.
