We have an exciting opportunity available to join our finance team as a Finance Manager. The Finance Manager will provide financial and non-financial information and analysis to enable the EMEA business to make appropriate and effective commercial decisions, ensuring that effective reporting and controls are in place to support a diversified and substantial business.

Role Responsibility

The Finance Manager will provide analysis and interpretation of the business area results, using monthly reporting packs to support the business to deliver the results.

You will establish and maintain a strong financial control and reporting environment, complying with BBCW Accounting Policies, IFRS, and where applicable local GAAP to ensure business risks are minimised and continually looking for opportunities to improve processes and controls to ensure compliance and minimise risk.

You will review and manage the business area cashflow to report on variances and work with the Treasury function and business units to constantly refine and improve cashflow reporting.

You will review all balance sheet accounts, working with business area, central Finance functions and IT, provide support and direction to ensure transactions are understood and correctly recorded with monthly reconciliations, and that the balance sheet is in line with IFRS and where applicable local GAAP.

You will support department improvement projects as required (e.g. SAP Analytics Cloud roll-out) to improve processes across the team.

You will support and act as a key point of information during the annual audit process to deliver the required information for sign off of results.

You will support preparation of the statutory accounts, tax and VAT returns for the UK and overseas based subsidiaries and act as key point of contact for external accountants, to ensure all statutory filing timelines are met.

You will manage relations and outputs of finance staff performing EMEA tasks at IBM, establishing effective ways of working and a robust controls framework, and supporting the BPO process more generally.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in commercial finance in a management accounting environment. You'll have strong technical accounting skills and controls experience.

Experience of working in a global organisation with regional / multi-site finance teams, is desirable. Experience within the media sector and consumer facing business would be a strong advantage.

You will have good analytical and financial modelling skills. Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel (including pivot tables). SAP and BW experience preferable.

You will have excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to communicate sometimes complex accounting rules to non-accountants. You will have the ability to influence and empower others.

You'll be a proactive self-starter with a commercial acumen. You'll be confident with influencing & networking and have strong organisational ability. You will have a global mindset: thinking and acting for both local and global needs and professional credibility.

A Professional qualification in accountancy (preferably ACA or CIMA) and able to demonstrate experience PQE.
