Graphic Designer (Broadcast) x 2 - BBC Scotland
Due to a period of growth, we are looking to add to our in-house team of designers.
Our live shows broadcast across the week, at daytime, evenings and weekends. The successful candidate will work across these broadcasts as part of a flexible and dynamic working pattern.
The designer will work across our many genres, including news, sport, current affairs and politics. These shows are live studio or at outside broadcasts across Scotland.
You will be tasked with producing distinctive content on a variety of platforms, working effectively with other departments, ensuring our content reflects our diverse audiences.
You will share design expertise and creative solutions for the benefit of the audience and be accountable for the quality of your work and ensure it meets intended purposes including accountability for the usability and accessibility of design deliveries for the broadest possible cross-section of users
To be at the forefront of emerging industry trends, it will be essential for you to keep up to date with latest technology and trends.
Are you the right candidate?
We are looking for demonstrable passion and a great understanding of the role of a designer in a broadcast environment and experience of working against tight deadlines with the ability to perform under pressure.
You should be an experienced Adobe Creative Suite User and/or VizRt, skilled in motion graphics.
You should have a portfolio of excellent design work demonstrating creative flair and have the ability to deliver different approaches and design styles and be comfortable talking through your design decisions with a diverse range of people with evidence of successfully collaborating and sharing your ideas with absolutely anyone.
We would be keen to see/hear how you keep pace with latest design trends and technology developments.
Our department uses Cinema 4D but a working knowledge of any 3D application would be beneficial and an interest in coding or web development could also be advantageous to the successful candidate.
Grade: 7 / Proposed Band C
Contract: 12 Month FTC/Attachment x 2
