With a turnover of around £1.4 billion, we deliver content that  includes Strictly Come Dancing, Dragons’ Den, Green Planet, Children in Need, Amazing Hotels, Top Gear to name a few.  You’ll DEFINITELY have heard of at least one of those.

Due to the rapid growth of the business we now need an IT Asset Manager to join the team to support both our Entertainment and Music productions and our Factual Entertainment and Events.

The Entertainment & Music team are responsible for over 300 hours of content, producing some of the biggest and best loved brands including; Strictly Come Dancing, The Weakest Link, Glastonbury, Children in Need, BBC Young Musician of the Year, A Question of Sport, Radio 1’s Big Weekender, Comic Relief, Later…with Jools Holland, BBC3’s upcoming series I Like The Way You Move and much more!

The Factual Entertainment and Events team produce a wide breadth of content including; Top Gear, Countryfile, The One Show, Dragon’s Den, Morning Live, D Day Celebrations, See Hear, Gardener’s World, Amazing Hotels: Life Beyond the Lobby, DIY SOS, Points of View, Commonwealth Observance Days, Antiques Roadshow, Countryfile, the prestigious Royal Ceremonial Event coverage and much more.

 

Role Responsibility

What’s the job about:

  • You'll be responsible for IT asset provision, both within BBC buildings and on location where you will also advise on connectivity and other IT requirements such as printers, telephony and software and supporting and reporting IT asset and telephony management.
  • You will be responsible for accommodation management - managing floor usage, desk positions and demand.
  • You will manage and own the process of leavers and joiners including arranging a weekly new starters meeting, provide support and ensure the appropriate equipment and software is provided..
  • Organise the departmental layout and forecast and manage staff/desk ratios 
  • You'll maintain supplies of stationary and equipment. and review and update Health and Safety policies.
  • you will also need you to authorise IT requests, on boarding staff and provide on-site technology support to productions on location.
  • Supporting the Programme Services Manager with the delivery of Ad Hoc Technology and Accommodation projects, delivering cost saving and innovation to the EME Production department
  • Reporting financial and accommodation actual and forecasting planning to the London Operations Manager on a regular basis

Are you the right candidate?

At BBC Studios, we seek people who are passionate about who we are and what we do.

This role is an essential part of the production process, with a broad remit and high degree of responsibility. We additionally would like you to have:

  • A strong technical background with previous experience in IT support, or as an office or events IT Coordinator within a television production environment
  • Previous experience of the fast moving nature of a television production office and an understanding of the needs of project/production based business
  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills
  • Experience in dealing with problems and fire-fighting those issues to resolution
  • An understanding of the fast moving nature of a production office and the needs of project/production based business
  • Experience of project management involving strategic planning and forecasting incorporating innovative ways of working for the business need
  • Ability to manage departmental needs whilst simultaneously ensuring adherence to corporate policy
  • Experience of accommodation management, ideally within a fast changing production environment
  • A working knowledge of standard Microsoft Office applications, in particular Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of SAP and financial processes
  • A working knowledge of the BBC’s business and administrative policies and procedures
  • A background in long term, financial planning, with the ability to demonstrate a strategic outlook in cost effective ways
  • Excellent time management skills to achieve maximum productivity and the ability to prioritise a heavy workload without supervision
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to keep calm under pressure and deal sensitively and confidently with a range of contacts both internally and externally to the organisation
