This is an exciting role embedded alongside content and IP side of the BBC Studios and supporting the production side of the business. This is excellent opportunity to take your first steps in Insights, a rare and exciting opportunity to understand audience data and behaviours and impact on strategic and editorial decisions. This job will involve supporting the Content & Production Insight team in the day to day analysis and reporting of audience data, along with dealing with ad hoc requests and providing support on longer term projects.
This role will be supporting the Content & Production Insight team in end to end insight support for the production communities at BBC Studies: from uncovering audience & market trends to support idea generation and content development & pitches, right through to understanding how our shows have performed in the context of the competition & market.
Further to this, you will be supporting the Content & Production Insight team on using the BBC Studios panel to create meaningful audience insights. You will also be responsible for scripting surveys (under guidance) and sharing result within the team and developing best practice panel support including survey templates and benchmarks and proactively champion the panel across BBC Studios.
In addition to this, you will be involved in undertaking quantitative and qualitative research projects and to be solely or jointly responsible for these projects, as specified, including managing project budgets which might include deep dives into high priority titles, analysis into successful shows or franchises or supporting development of existing titles
Are you the right candidate?
The Content Insight Assistant will be provided with all training needed to use our software systems, so no prior knowledge of these is needed. What would be advantageous for the role however, would be a confident, proactive and helpful approach to work. You will have a well-developed analytical/numeracy skills, and in particular the ability to extract key conclusions from data and to communicate these clearly and concisely both orally and in writing and some experience of data/analysis techniques.
A clear passion for television and awareness of the relevant media trends and the role of BBC Studios within it would be advantageous coupled with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage a broad workload whilst sustaining levels of performance against challenging deadlines.
Ideally, you will have experience working for a broadcaster or production company or in media or experience with BARB or Techedge would be beneficital. You will also be highly organised with strong communication, negotiating and interpersonal skills.
