BBC Three is looking for a motivated and ambitious Junior Editor to join our Edit Hub team, to work across a range of supporting promotional content for the channel’s social media platforms.
BBC Three makes a range of innovative and experimental content for 16 to 34-year-olds across the UK, and has been recognised by audiences and the industry, with us winning Broadcast Digital Channel of the Year and numerous awards for shows like Drag Race UK, This Country and The Rap Game UK.
Following BBC Three’s return to TV in February, it’s an exciting time for the channel. With an ambition to be braver, more provocative, and bolder than any other part of the BBC, we are committed to produce content that resonates and reaches young audiences across a range of platforms.
Working with BBC Three’s Edit Hub Team in Birmingham, you’ll use your edit skills to create audio-visual short form assets for Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, Facebook and YouTube to serve our target audience.
Primarily working to briefs set by the BBC Three’s Social Media team, you’ll source material and edit clips. You will also format content to suit different social media platforms, and add branding and subtitling ready for publication, ensuring all content follows the channel’s style guide and is on-brand.
You may also be required to create other bespoke edits, including compilations and mash-ups for social publication. It’s a great opportunity to develop your edit skills and contribute ideas to the wider team.

It’s a fast-paced environment so we’re looking for a Junior Editor who is organised and adaptable with excellent attention to detail and great communication skills. You must have strong technical ability using Premiere Pro and ideally have some knowledge of Photoshop and After Effects.
You’ll need excellent language, spelling and grammar skills for captioning and subtitles – and be able to demonstrate an understanding of how content looks across different social media platforms.
The team currently work to a hybrid pattern, with three days per week in the office at the Mailbox in Birmingham.
