Junior Graphic Designer (BBC Children in Need)

In an increasingly competitive environment BBC Children in Need aims to develop sustainable partnerships with a range of interests. These include partners who can help to add breadth and depth to the annual Appeal as well as generate additional income. This role will play a significant part in meeting the aims of the charity. It will be focused on delivering graphic design support to one of the charity’s major partners.

We are now looking for a Junior Graphic Designer to support the creative output of the charity, working closely with one of a major commercial partners within the finance sector.

This is a 6 month fixed-term contract covering 4 days per week.

Role Responsibility

The Junior Graphic Designer, will design and create on-brand collateral to support BBC Children in Need’s partnership activity for our commercial partner organisation. You'll be client-facing, and, with the Lead Designer will be the brand guardian, applying the newly refreshed brand consistently across every touch-point of the business. These will include brochures, signage, environmental graphics, internal communications, merchandise, direct marketing and presentations.

You'll see the process of design, art working and basic print and production through from start to finish, and will support the delivery of key agreed objectives by designing and managing a range of materials for print and online. 

In addition to converting content into a number of formats as required, you will develop a range of assets (in still and possibly animation form) which will be supplied to production teams, media and online.


The Ideal Candidate

Ideally, the Junior Graphic Designer will be looking to make their first move into a larger organisation or looking for a strong project to demonstrate their passion for branding and design in a busy and creative in-house environment. With knowledge of working with a premium brand, and design experience, you will be proficient in using industry standard applications, including: InDesign, Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.  Experience of using Premiere, Dreamweaver, Flash, After Effects, HTML and Final, or similar applications would be useful.

You will be a confident and tenacious self starter with the ability to work to short deadlines with minimum supervision.

This is a busy, client-facing role that will require you to take ownership of the end-to-end design process. Your ability to prioritise and manage competing demands is critical to your success. You will be a team player with a strong eye for detail.
