Lawyer - Data Protection
Were looking for a Data Protection lawyer to join our Workplace and Information Rights Legal team, based in our London office.
Personal privacy and the protection of personal data is now one of the hottest topics in the news and a high priority for many organisations. The BBC takes matters of privacy and data protection very seriously, particularly as one of the corporations 4 objectives for the coming year is to deliver a more personal digital BBC.
Our overall structure is similar to that found in private practice firms and we support on a wide range of diverse matters. Whilst this means the work can be challenging and relatively fast-paced at times, we are open to discussing agile ways of working to support our staff, where appropriate and in line with our flexible working policies.
Working within the Information Rightsteam, youll take a particular lead on providing specific data protection advice to divisions withinthe BBC and Television Licensing and manage a varied diet of DP questions from broad strategy, through questions from programme makers to complex individual subject access requests.
Are you the right candidate?
To be successful in this role, you will be legally qualified with a significant level of knowledge ofdata protection, or possess experience in a data protection related legal or compliance role, with a good knowledge of DP and its implications for the media. Whats more, youll be used to providing legal and compliance advice, drafting letters and short reports and working to very tight deadlines.
