Growing BBC Sounds is one of the BBC’s key priorities and the Marketing Exec plays a central role in making new audiences aware of the offer and driving consumption of a range of audio content through the app.

Role Responsibility

As the Marketing Executive you will work on the day to day delivery of outstanding multi-media marketing campaigns to drive an under 35 audience to BBC Sounds. You will develop campaigns from planning through to post-campaign evaluation and work with the Marketing Manager and colleagues on acquisition and retention strategies to maximise weekly usage of the app.

You will establish great working relationships with the wider BBC Sounds team to ensure that our vision for the brand is more than just a marketing thing; that it infuses the whole team and all our output around a unified and consistent proposition.

You will bring our strong and clear brand identity to life in a way which engages and motivates audiences and drives credit for BBC Sounds and the wider BBC. You will lead and encourage innovation and have excellent knowledge of current trends in marketing, digital and social media.

Are you the right candidate?

To be successful in this role, you will need solid marketing experience ideally gained within broadcast media or within an organisation with comparable levels of complexity to that of the BBC. Importantly you will have an impressive record of creative achievement and driving creative innovation.

You will have a sound understanding of a range of marketing techniques with a proven track record of delivering multi-media creative campaigns for large brands, managing budgets and ensuring resources are used efficiently. You will demonstrate experience working with in house and third party creative partners leading the way in new digital and social media campaigns.

You will have excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders and teams across the BBC as well as external agencies. This is an exciting, fast moving environment, which requires an organised and proactive Marketing Executive.

You will have a genuine passion for the output of BBC Radio and Music and the wider competitive audio and music landscape.
