Marketing Manager - BBC Network Radio

Job Introduction

We are looking for two experienced Marketing Managers to join our Content Marketing team. We have one permanent role available and one 9 month contract covering maternity leave. Both roles are based at New Broadcasting House in London.

The permanent role is for Speech & Classical; specifically working with Radio 3, Radio 4 and 5 live, and the 9 month contract is for Portfolio; working across BBC Network Radio and with BBC Sounds.

For the Speech & Classical role, you will have line management responsibility for one Marketing Executive. There is no line management responsibility for the Portfolio role.

Role Responsibility

You will lead the development of campaigns to drive consumption of Radio content in BBC Sounds and help shape content, commissioning strategies and editorial propositions informed by audience insight.

Some of the key areas of responsibility are:

  • Develop individual BBC brands’ strategies within in the context of overall BBC brand strategy
  • Develop relationships with internal editorial, creative, social media, communications, audiences teams and external agencies.
  • Agree targets for individual campaigns, and manage the necessary research in conjunction with audience research.
  • Lead and line-manage the Marketing Executives to deliver the marketing plan and team objectives, setting out individual objectives, responsibilities and performance expectations.

Are you the right candidate?

  • Experienced Marketing Manager – good understanding of leading & delivering brand and content led strategies, ability to deliver multi media campaigns (TV, Radio, OOH, & digital)
  • Excellent digital marketing skills and experience delivering acquisition and retention campaigns
  • Creative flair and passion for audio (music streaming, radio & podcast market).  A real understanding of the competitive market place
  • Analytical rigour – ability to manage and breakdown complex issues using data, knowing when to deepen analysis and adjust thinking in face of new info
  • Situational management – experience managing complex situations and senior stakeholders
