Job Introduction

The BBC have an exciting opportunity for a Marketing Manager to join the BBC News team.

You will cover marketing for BBC News in the UK with a focus on the digital portfolio including BBC News on mobile, web, social, BBC iPlayer and BBC Sounds

This is a permanent role based at New Broadcasting House in London.

Role Responsibility

  • Lead the marketing plan for the BBC News App, designing marketing and product messaging to encourage audience acquisition and usage, analysing audience behaviour to inform activity. Will require close collaboration with multiple teams across the BBC.
  • Responsible for the development of marketing communications campaigns for our digital news output, in partnership with creative, media and CRM colleagues.
  • Responsible for maximising the power of the BBC News portfolio, to help audiences discover content and to encourage them to make onward journeys across news and the BBC.
  • Work with the Portfolio Head of Marketing to develop the BBC News brand strategy - focusing on increasing brand attribution, improving branding and providing clearer navigation for audiences.

The Ideal Candidate

Ideally you will have the following skills / experience:

Digital Product Marketing Management: Must have experience of building and managing major digital products; audience acquisition, product promotion, influencing product development

Data skills: Must be confident using audience data and insight to drive decision making

Marketing Communications Expertise: The candidate must be able demonstrate that they have experience delivering marketing campaigns across TV, radio, digital and social. With emphasis on delivering innovative and impactful digital and social media campaigns to drive

Collaborative skills: Will have to collaborate with multiple teams across the business including editorial, UXD, Product, CRM and BBC Creative.

Influencing and Persuading: Must be able to demonstrate that they have the experience of influencing and persuading board level stakeholders to build support for courses of action.
