Media Manager, BBC News Intake (Arabic Media Hub)
BBC News Intake brings together the Arabic and Persian Media Hubs, News Traffic, and News Intake Video. It is part of the Newsgathering department and the teams are based in the heart of the newsrooms in BBC Broadcasting House and the Peel Wing. Currently, the four teams work independently of each other carrying out separate functions. This role relates to the Arabic Media Hub part of the operation.
You'll work in the Arabic Media Hub and help put the best content to air in the context of a busy newsroom working to tight deadlines. You'll organise and store media on the Jupiter system and manage the system resources. You'll also co-ordinate and monitor incoming and outgoing feeds. An understanding of the journalistic/production aims of the output is essential.
The Ideal Candidate
You'll need experience of working in a broadcasting environment along with experience of media management. Knowledge of a news production system is essential, along with editorial awareness relating to newsgathering and BBC Arabic output. You'll need to work a variety of shifts including weekends.
Contract: 3 month attachment / fixed term contract
