Personal Assistant - Drama

Job Introduction

We are currently looking for an outstanding personal assistant to  work in the BBC Drama department. You will be playing a pivotal role within the Drama Commissioning team, assisting to deliver programmes that strive to enrich people’s lives and fulfil the BBC’s original remit to inform, educate and entertain.

Role Responsibility

Working with the other assistants in the department you will help schedule and manage the commissioning editors extremely busy and constantly changing diaries that include viewings, read-throughs, development and production meetings.  You’ll act as a point of contact, creating a positive impression for both internal contacts in senior management, business affairs, marketing and press, along with external contacts including production company executives, agents and talent. You’ll also be required to contribute to ad hoc projects as necessary and to proactively assist the commissioning team in carrying out their objectives.

Are you the right candidate?

We’re looking for someone with passion and understanding of television drama across the industry, with a demonstrable interest in working within Drama. Previous experience or an understanding of working within a script environment is advantageous.

 You’ll need substantial administrative experience, with demonstrable experience of effectively managing complex, consistently changing diaries. You’ll need to be able to handle confidential information with tact and diplomacy as well as being a quick learner of office systems and procedures. You’ll relish being part of a collaborative team and have excellent communication and influencing skills, unafraid to approach people at all levels of seniority. You’ll need to be highly driven, extremely pro-active and organised. You'll need to be confident when juggling multiple tasks and conflicting priorities. Just as important will be your passion for the BBC and your excitement at being part of a team that’s creating some of the most diverse and admired programming in the world.
