Personal Assistant - Entertainment

Job Introduction

BBC Content is at the heart of BBC television output and is responsible for the portfolio of TV and digital services – BBC One, BBC Two, BBC Three, BBC Four, BBC Sport and iPlayer. The Division commissions and acquires content across Drama, Comedy, Entertainment and Factual, produces Sport, and manages the scheduling of Digital and TV services.

This Personal Assistant role will be responsible for supporting the Controller Entertainment Commissioning and Commissioning Editors.  The role works closely with three other Assistants and providing cover as required.

Role Responsibility

You’ll be the first point of contact and liaison within the department, creating a positive impression to a wide range of both internal and external contacts. 

You’ll provide comprehensive administrative and operational support to the Controller Entertainment Commissioning and Commissioning Editor, using discretion to identify and resolve first line issues.

Responsibilities include: effectively managing busy and complex diaries, making each day as effective as possible for roles covered. 

You will be a key part of a cohesive and supportive team of Assistants, working collaboratively to ensure that the needs of the business are met, including providing leave cover.  You will act as a key champion of change in the division, demonstrating a proactive approach including exploring how new technology and ways of working can contribute to team and divisional objectives.

Are you the right candidate?

You will have substantial experience in providing high level team assistant/personal assistant support within a fast-paced working environment.

You will have significant experience of managing complex and constantly changing diaries.

Previous experience of pro-actively managing correspondence and be able to prioritise information for review and responding confidently and effectively when required.

Proven organisational skills with superb attention to detail and accuracy, using your initiative to plan and prioritise your workload to respond flexibly to rapidly changing and conflicting priorities.

Confident in the use of technology with adaptability to work with new equipment, software, systems and processes e.g. tablet devices, Skype for Business, Video Conferencing.

You will have advanced IT skills, including excellent knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook and file management systems.
