Job Introduction

BBC Procurement works with suppliers to deliver the best level of service and value for money.  Procurement Operations is responsible for the end-to-end management, business support and continuous improvement of the BBC's goods and services procurement process.

We’re entering an exciting period of change and are looking for a Procurement Operations Manager with key responsibilities in supplier information and project management.  

Role Responsibility

Providing leadership across a small team of assistants and our outsourced service provider, you’ll be responsible for all supplier data, including purchasing catalogues, and be the subject matter expert for related technologies and processes. Reporting to the Head of Procurement and working closely with process owners, you’ll also have an important role in continuous improvement and driving change across purchase to pay operations.

In addition you will:

  • Management of the day-to-day operational relationship with the service provider.
  • Measurement of performance and compliance through reporting of operational activity, identifying and acting on opportunities to deliver improvements.
  • Provide effective, compliant and knowledgeable operational support services underpinned by customer service excellence.
  • Maintain and develop anin-depth subject knowledge in their area. Monitor the external environment, benchmark and recommend incremental improvements for all related processes and systems while protecting the integrity of the process and associated controls.
  • Ensure the efficient operation of associated systems including the maintenance of associated financial and management information.

The Ideal Candidate

To succeed in this role, you will be action orientated and customer focused, with project management experience and great analytical and problem-solving skills. You will be comfortable delivering change projects and maintaining relationships with suppliers, key stakeholders and third-party providers across a wide range of people, levels and functions.
