Producer, Sunday Morning Live

Sunday Morning Live is BBC One’s topical and interactive ethical discussion series that is designed to get the nation talking. It is made by BBC Studios as part of an award-winning department also producing live worship, major OBs, and documentaries.

We are seeking a highly-motivated and creative Producer to be based in Belfast, but there will be a requirement to travel to multiple sites so flexibility is key.

Role Responsibility

Supporting the Series Producer and working as part of a vibrant production team, the Producer will be required to take responsibility for a whole programme or sections within a programme.  You’ll be involved at every stage of the production process including research and pre-production; location or studio filming; and post production.  The Producer will develop, produce and/or direct live or recorded programme content with editorial responsibility for the planning and effective production. You’ll keep across the news agenda to ensure content is topical.

Are you the right candidate?

You’ll have sound editorial judgement and proven journalism skills, with the ability to generate original ideas and to think creatively about how to communicate them. You’ll have the ability to initiate and develop both original ideas and approaches to topical issues, write accurate, ambitious scripts, and produce films with maximum impact, flair and high production values. You’ll be able to cast, structure, and deliver intelligent and feisty debates with top drawer interviewees, with the confidence and tenacity to pursue information, overcome obstacles, and pitch ideas to senior colleagues. Self-motivated and adaptable, you’ll have line management experience and the ability to develop team members effectively. Naturally you’ll have the ability to work effectively under pressure, react quickly and meet tight deadlines.

FTC / Attachment - 5 months (Starting early June)

Base - Belfast

Grade 9 / Proposed Band D
