BBC Creative is the BBC’s in-house Creative agency.  Our purpose is to make as many people as possible love and value the BBC, by creating campaigns that will leave a positive mark on popular culture. We now have an amazing opportunity for a talented Production Coordinator to join us.

You would join a team of creatively minded Producers, Production Managers and Production Co-ordinators, responsible for delivering the promotional campaigns and branding for the BBC, its content and services across all platforms – TV, digital, social, OOH etc.

Our work varies hugely: from Strictly Come Dancing to Elections, to FA Cup to Poldark , working across all the brands and genres – from BBC One to Radio 1, iPlayer to Cbeebies, Drama to Live events!

This role will have a particular focus across our key news programmes, BBC News, Panorama, Question Time to name a few, along with election coverage so we're looking for someone with a keen interest in news and the enthusiasm to progress in a creative production environment.      

Role Responsibility

As a Production Coordinator, you will provide logistical and coordination support to the team on a variety of productions (pre and post production) across our News brands - UK News, World Service, World News, BBC Arabic.

  • Contribute to the scheduling and budgeting of the production/content in line with divisional requirements and relevant BBC frameworks, guidelines and policies
  • Responsible for supporting the Production Manager (or equivalent) in identifying and sourcing appropriate resource and location requirements for the production at the earliest possible stage
  • Ensure compliance with BBC policies, guidelines, legislative and regulatory requirements, in order to minimise the BBC’s exposure to risk
  • Escalate unresolved issues promptly
  • Responsible for ensuring all necessary rights are acquired and recorded for the complete delivery of the production/content, escalating any issues at the earliest stage
  • Accountable for resolving any operational and financial issues commensurate with the role
  • Ensures the production/content delivers demonstrable value for money through effective and efficient management of people and resources
  • Applies specialist skills to productions, eg post production, shoots and final delivery of content
  • Help manage and monitor production resource with an awareness of allocated budgets for each project
  • Adhere to the processes for fully and accurately capturing and managing metadata in line with BBC guidelines and policies, and ensuring Archives have the necessary information to manage media assets
  • Identify training needs of less experienced colleagues, ensuring performance management arrangements are in place, where necessary
  • Maintain a safe and healthy working environment at all times, escalating any issues or areas of concern
  • Planning, tracking and updating rotas of all post production resources for each promo campaigns
  • Proactively looks for ways of improving efficiencies within a production environment, promotes diversity and champions the rationale for new ways of working and/or for adopting new production related technologies
  • Supports other internal departments with the implementation of their strategies (e.g. HR, Workplace, Procurement, Finance, etc)
  • Responsible for liaising and supporting the Production Manager and Asset Management teams about asset requirements and joiner, mover and leaver activities both in the office and on location

The Ideal Candidate

This role is aimed at people with production experience (Pre and post production, including shoots) 

You'll need to have:

  • Ability to prepare, manage and/or implement production resource plans and budgets
  • Understanding of file formats
  • Experience in booking post production resources, including booking talent such (i.e. voiceover artists, makeup artists, licencing music and images etc)
  • Attention to detail & strong organizational, business and finance skills (raising of PO's, data entry, archiving of files)
  • Post production process experience and understanding of audio sessions 
  • Good understanding of the end to end promo production process
  • Prior experience of managing workflow and resources to deliver multiple, at times conflicting projects.
  • Exceptional communication skills and a passion for our work at the BBC
